Learning by Experiencing, the First International Chocolate Day
新学年开学已经三周了，近两周，国际部筹划庆祝了贵阳为明国际学校三校区国际班首个国际巧克力节。在外教们的带领下，三校区的学生参加了各式各样的活动，共同庆祝了这一节日。
It has been three weeks since the new school year started, and in the past two weeks, the International Studies Department held lots of activities to celebrate the first International Chocolate Day in Guiyang Weiming International School.
国际巧克力节，为每年9月13日。庆祝这一节日的目的是为了使国际班的学生进一步了解西方文化和节日，同时提升英语应用能力。在节日之前，三校区的外教们都对学生进行了巧克力节日的历史背景和基本知识介绍，对走廊环境进行了布置。学生在了解相关知识后，由外教指导，参与了巧克力烹饪活动，包括制作纸杯蛋糕，各种巧克力口味品尝，或DIY巧克力等。
The actual holiday is on September 13th. The intention for the celebration is to make the students in international classes to be familiar with the western culture and festival, as well as to improve students’ ability to use English in their daily life. In all the three different campuses of our school, all the foreign teachers did a brief presentation to students to brief students with the historical background and basic understanding of the festival. Bearing the information in mind, students, with the help from the foreign teachers from all the three campuses did chocolate cooking workshop including cupcake, DIY chocolate and chocolate tasting.
除以上活动，春天校区一到三年级国际班的学生欣赏了一部和巧克力相关的电影，举办了小小厨师帽制作评比和第一次巧克力作品展。温泉校区四、五年级国际班学生品尝了外教制作的蛋糕，还和外教们一起制作了经典巧克力棉花糖。公园校区，七、八年级国际班学生和国际高中学生参与了巧克力知识问答，共同制作设计了走廊节日装饰。活动旨在通过学生动手参与，小组活动，增强学生的自信和满足感，让学生了解此次活动不仅仅关乎巧克力烹饪和品尝。
In Spring Campus, the students, from Grade 1 to 3 International Classes, also enjoyed a chocolate-related movie and held an exhibition about chocolate. In Hot Spring Campus, the students from Grade 4 to 5 made traditional chocolate marshmallow together with foreign teachers. In Poly Park Campus, a quiz about the history of chocolate is designed to boost the students interests to know more about chocolate, students who answered correctly are rewarded with a chocolate, henceforth they feel pride and fulfillment, and realize that the gist of the festival is not the mere chocolate cooking.
截至本周五，此次巧克力节活动圆满结束，三校区的国际班学生在开学初感受体验了第一次活动，在统一组织下，外教们有条不紊的开展活动，学生们感受良好。
